Inaugural Pan-African Conference on Surgery
Pan-African Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Conference
Building Resilient and Sustainable Plastic and Reconstructive Surgical Services in Africa
A Surgeon in Every District
24-28 February 2025 | Kigali Serena Hotel
The Opportunity
Africa faces a critical shortage of surgical professionals. By 2030, the continent is projected to lack over 6 million surgical care providers. With only 0.5 surgeons and 0.1 anesthetists per 100,000 people, this shortage creates a major health care burden.
In response to this urgent need, the Pan-African Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Conference brings together health care professionals and policymakers to develop strategies to strengthen Africa’s surgical workforce and improve access to surgical care.
